We understand the needs of small businesses and it shows in our policies. You can choose the cover options that apply to your own particular business meaning you only pay for insurance that you need. Our Business Insurance Specialists offer industry know-how to help in tailoring the right package. We figure, by choosing the right insurance at the right price you can relax and get back to what you’re good at.
Fire, storm and other defined events (including malicious damage)
This is common cover for a small business. It’s an obvious choice for fixed premises. Examples of insurable events include bushfires, earthquakes, lightning strikes, storm and rain water, impact from trees, vandalism and escape of liquids.
Burglary
We cover you for burglary of your contents and/or stock at your business premises.
Glass breakage
Apart from broken glass, our cover also includes the replacement of skylights, mirrors and neon signs plus the replacement of sign writing and temporary shuttering. This is important cover for businesses in fixed premises, such as cafes, clothing retailers, hairdressers and florists.
Money (including transit)
You are covered for loss or damage to money, credit cards and sales vouchers held on the premises during or after business hours, or while in transit. This is a popular option for small businesses that move money around, such as from their shop to the bank.
Property in transit
For small businesses that need cover for property stolen from a site other than the business premises. This is a popular option for tradespeople who may have tools and equipment stolen from their vehicles between jobs or at other people’s premises.
Personal injury and property damage
You are covered if someone sues you for personal injury or damage to their property that occurs in connection with your business activities. This cover is important as more people become involved in litigation. Retailers and café owners can be sued if someone falls due to a spillage on the floor of the premises. Tradespeople need cover if they make a mistake such as putting a hole through a customer’s wall.
Business interruption
You are covered for loss of profits if your business is disrupted by damage resulting from specified events.
Personal accident and illness
This covers you for loss of income as a result of a defined accident or illness. We cover individuals which is useful for sole traders or partnerships that need both partners working.
Cover for specified items
You are covered against accidental loss or damage for specified items that are important to you.
Electronic equipment
This option covers you for the physical loss, destruction or damage to electronic tools or equipment used on your business premises.
Machinery breakdown
We cover you for breakdown of motorised equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioners. This option is important for cafes, bakers and cake retailers.
Motor vehicle
This provides the same cover options as your personal vehicle insurance such as Comprehensive Car Insurance and should be considered for vehicles registered for business use. It is vital for business owners who are on the road all day, such as tradespeople. This option also covers the loss of a trailer, while property in transit covers the equipment inside the trailer. Vehicles we can insure include fork lift trucks, trench diggers, cars, utes and so on.
Tax audit
We insure you against the cost of professional fees as a result of a tax audit or investigation.
Fraud or dishonesty
We insure you against loss of property caused by an employee committing a dishonest or fraudulent act.
