An excess is the amount you pay when you make a claim on your policy.

What is an incident?
An incident is a single occurrence or a series of occurrences, including an accident or series of accidents, arising out of the one event. In terms of insurance coverage, an incident usually refers to the occurrence that caused injury to someone, or loss or damage to property, such as a car accident, a storm or a theft.

How is my premium calculated?
Your premium is based on risk. If you are considered a low risk, your premium is lower than that of customers who have a high risk of making a claim. For example, risk factors that are considered when you insure your home include its location, its age and construction type, the security devices that you use and other factors. How can I reduce my premium?
You can reduce your premiums by paying annually instead of in monthly instalments or by choosing to pay a higher excess. You may also qualify for our discounts.
