If you’ve been in an accident that was caused by a vehicle insured with NRMA MAI Insurance, here are some steps to follow:
- Contact ACT Police, notify them about the accident, and get a collision report number as a reference
- If you've been injured, fill out the Personal Injuries Application form, and ask your doctor to complete a Motor Accident Medical Report
- Email your completed forms and treatment receipts to email@example.com, or post them to NRMA Insurance MAI Claims, GPO Box 481, Sydney NSW 2001

Who can claim?
If you've been injured in a road accident in the ACT, you may be able to claim compensation for up to 5 years after the accident.
Close relatives and dependants may also be able to claim compensation if a family member dies as a result of the accident.

If you’re eligible, you can claim for the cost of treatment and paid care that you need to recover from injuries you got in the accident.
If you lose income because of your injuries, you can also claim for some lost income. And if you’re a close relative or dependent of someone who was killed in an accident, you can claim for funeral expenses and death benefits.
Did the accident happen before February 2020?
On 1 February 2020, the ACT moved from Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance to Motor Accident Injuries (MAI) Insurance.
So, if the accident happened before this date, you need to claim under the previous CTP scheme or our At-fault Driver Cover.
