We've been helping Australians for 100 years

Compare home insurance

Discover and compare the home insurance options we have available – and what’s included – to help cover and protect your most valuable assets.

Why compare home insurance policies?

By spending a little bit of time comparing policies and what’s included, you’ll be one step closer to finding the right cover.

When comparing, you might like to consider things such as excess (the amount you pay out of pocket if claiming), optional extras (add-ons for your insurance) and your premium (the total amount you pay for your policy).

Home Contents Insurance can cover items in your home in case they're damaged or destroyed in an insured event such as fire, theft or storm. Home Building Insurance might cover the cost of repairing or rebuilding the physical structure of homes and other buildings. There’s also a combined policy known as Home Building & Contents Insurance

Things you should know

  1. If you’re renting the home, we pay the reasonable extra rent costs for temporary accommodation. If you own and live in your home, we cover the reasonable costs of temporary accommodation. As long as you were living in the damaged home permanently before the incident, we pay for accommodation for up to a year for the Home Buildings and Contents Standard policy (or up to two years if you have a Home Buildings and Contents Plus policy), or when your home is repaired or replaced (whichever is first). We pay your temporary accommodation costs up to 10% of your sum insured for Home Buildings and Contents Standard policies, and up to 20% for Home Buildings and Contents Plus. We need to be satisfied your home is unliveable and we need to agree to the cost before you make arrangements.
