Classic Car Insurance

Got a classic vehicle? We’ve got insurance for that. Protect your pride and joy with Classic Car Insurance

What is Classic Car Insurance?

Classic vehicles aren’t just any old vehicles. That’s why they aren’t covered by just any old insurance.

Classic Car Insurance offers specialised cover for your special set of wheels. This includes cover for accidental damage or loss, fire, theft, vandalism, third party property damage (up to $20 million) and more.

Which classic cars are covered?

A classic car is at least 15 years old and needs to be recognised by us as a classic vehicle to be covered. You can call us on 132 132 to find out if your car is recognised as a classic car.

We can cover your classic car for wedding and special occasion hire, as well as for your personal use.

Cover is available if you drive your car for less than 9,000km a year.

An additional excess (known as an 'undisclosed driver age excess') applies if the driver is under 25 years of age. You won't pay this excess if the driver's a learner and was appropriately supervised by a fully licensed driver over the age of 25.

An additional excess (known as an 'undisclosed driver excess') applies where the driver is 25 years of age or older and is not listed on your policy.

You won't have to pay either of these additional excesses if the driver is listed on your policy.

If a learner driver uses my car, do I need to list them on my policy?

You don’t need to list a learner driver on your policy unless they’re the registered owner of the car. If you need to pay an excess, we’ll base it on the details of the supervising driver.
