What changes can I make to my policies using my online account?

The policy changes you can make using your online account depend on the policies you hold. For example, Comprehensive Car Insurance policy holders can:

  • Add/edit the car's VIN
  • Add/remove a windscreen option
  • Add/remove a hire car
  • Add/remove drivers
  • Add/remove the car's credit provider
  • Amend their excess
  • Amend their sum insured
  • Cancel their policy
  • Change and view their risk address
  • Change kilometres driven/garaging
  • Change the address where the car on the policy is kept
  • Change their car's number plate details
  • Switch from agreed value to market value

More FAQs

We cover anyone who drives your car, even if you haven't listed them on your policy.1

However, the excess payable may be affected if a driver isn’t listed.

  • An additional excess (known as an undisclosed driver excess) applies where a driver is 25 years of age or older and is not listed on your policy
  • A higher additional excess (known as an undisclosed driver age excess) applies if the unlisted driver is under 25 years of age
  • You won't have to pay either of these additional excesses if the driver is listed on your policy.

Special note for learner drivers:

You don't need to list learner drivers on your policy. Instead, we base any excess related to a claim when the vehicle was driven by a learner driver on the excess of the supervising driver. This excess may be higher if the supervising driver is not listed on your policy.

If you need to change or add something to your cover, you’ll need to provide:

  • your policy number
  • some information about your business activities
  • details of the business premises including address, age and security details.

If you’re making a change specifically about a vehicle, agricultural machinery, or other business items, then you may need to also provide:

  • registration and VIN numbers
  • serial numbers and make and model information.

We need this information to help you decide on the cover you need and to assist with identifying items in the event they’re stolen and you need to make a claim.
