Yes, we cover damage caused by storms and weather, for example:

  • Flood
  • Cyclone or tornado
  • Rain
  • Thunderstorm
  • Hail or snow
  • Severe winds.

To be covered, your house must have been structurally sound, watertight and well maintained before the damage occurred.

If your home is unliveable because of an incident we cover, we'll pay for temporary accommodation for you and your family.

Accidental Damage Cover is an option you can choose when you get a home insurance quote. It covers things like:

  • Your child accidentally knocked your TV over and broke the screen
  • You were up in your roof and accidentally put your foot through the ceiling.

You can choose Accidental Damage Cover for your building, your contents or both. It's automatically included in Building Plus and Contents Plus policies.

Yes, you can choose who repairs your home.

However, if you decide not to use one of our Partner Repairers, we won't be able to warrant the workmanship or repairs that are completed, or assist in managing the repairer throughout the repair on timeframes or quality.

We'll also only pay you the fair and reasonable amount that the repairs should cost.

You should only drive your car, motorcycle or scooter if it's in a condition that's safe for you and any passengers. Don't drive your vehicle if:

  • The lights or brakes aren't working
  • It's difficult to get in or out
  • The bodywork is damaged and could cause injury or interfere with driving
  • There are leaking fluids or signs of engine damage.

If your vehicle isn't safe to drive (after an incident we cover) and your policy covers towing, call us 24/7 on 132 132 and we'll arrange a tow for you.
