Support if you’ve lost a loved one

If you’ve lost a loved one and are an executor of their will or administrator of their estate, we can help you with their insurance.

How we can help through this change

We understand that organising the affairs of someone you’ve lost can be overwhelming. We’re here to help when it comes to their insurance.

Call us on 132 132 during business hours. We can help you make policy changes if you’re the executor or administrator and refer you to extra support.

Need to make changes to their policy?

Confirming your status as executor or administrator

When someone passes away and you need to take care of their insurance, you can talk to us on 132 132.

You’ll need to confirm you’re the executor or administrator and we’ll ask you to provide some contact details. If possible, have these documents handy:

  • A certified copy of your photo ID
  • A certified copy of the Grant of Probate or Grant of Letters of Administration
  • A certified copy of the death certificate.

As an executor or administrator, you can:

  • Make changes to the policy
  • Make a payment
  • Make a claim
  • Get a copy of the certificate of insurance
  • Cancel or replace the policy.

Simplify your financial administration

Let other companies know your loved one has died through the Australian Death Notification Service. If possible, have these documents on hand:

  • Official death certificate
  • Account numbers
  • Membership numbers (if applicable).

Has this change impacted your finances?

Sometimes the death of a loved one can put an additional strain on your finances.

Experiencing financial stress or finding it difficult to keep up with payments? We’re here to talk through your options to help you stay covered and reduce the risk of financial shock.

Call 132 132 and we’ll work with you to find support that’s right for your situation.  The earlier you call us, the sooner we can help.

Have any of your other details changed?

If any of the details you’ve given us in the past have changed, let us know because this can impact your insurance premium.

For example, for car insurance, this could include where you park and how many kilometres you drive. For home, this could include any renovations or security systems.
