Anyone injured in a motor vehicle accident can make a claim, including:

  • The driver and passengers in another vehicle
  • Motorcyclists
  • Cyclists, pedestrians and other road users
  • The driver that caused the accident.

If an NRMA CTP insured vehicle caused the accident, the person injured will need to make a claim themselves. If they need assistance, someone else can help by filling in the appropriate forms to start their claim. When the claim is submitted, we'll need to speak to the injured person directly.

Drivers who caused an accident while driving an NRMA CTP insured vehicle may also be able to claim a lump sum for certain serious injuries.

You cannot make a claim if you:

  • Have been charged with or convicted of a serious driving offence in connection with the accident, or
  • Were the at-fault driver of an uninsured vehicle and you knew the vehicle was uninsured.

For more information, or to start a claim, visit our CTP claims page.
